Hope In A Valley Of Dry Bones

9/29/2015

What can be done when all of hope of deliverance is gone?  If our nation persists in legislation that encourages sin, forbids righteousness and we fall as a result, can God save us still?

God can do anything!  When Judah was in the middle of self-destruction in the 6th century B.C., the Lord sent a vision to Ezekiel.  He saw, “a valley; it was full of bones.  He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.  He asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones, live?’  I said, ‘O Sovereign Lord, you alone know.’  Then he said to me, ‘Prophecy to these bones and say to them, ’Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!  This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones:  I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.  I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life.  Then you will know that I am the Lord’” (Ezekiel 37:1-6).

Judah was conquered by Babylon, yet God restored them to their land.  Judah persisted in sin, but God sent his Son Jesus to die for their sins and restore them to life in Jesus.  Judah was a valley of death, a place of dead bones, but God gave hope to all nations through Jesus Christ.

Do you see a valley of dry bones, of hopelessness and spiritual death?  Fret not!  God can put life in dry bones.  He’s done it before and he will do it again.  That’s what God does.  Hear the word of the Lord!

Mortality and Immortality

9/21/2015

A year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds long.  That’s how long it takes the earth to travel around the sun, one solar year.  That measurement of time is based on the existence of the sun and the earth in relation to each other.  If, however, you could measure the existence of God in years, the Creator would be billions, trillions, an infinite number of years in existence.  He has always been and always will be the God force of all time.

Man has been in existence only a few thousand years.  History is measured by man’s presence on earth.  Prior to man, there was no earthly history.  Though some men speculate that there was a prehistoric man, a beast that evolved upward into the highest life form, there is no truth to it.  There were no prehistoric men, there are no prehistoric men and there never will be any prehistoric men.  History is the story of mankind.

So, God has always been, he’s immortal.  Man has been here for a time, but each man dies in time, he’s mortal.  There is a way, however, for man to become immortal, transcending time.  Man can become a Christian, a true follower of Jesus Christ.  Then our souls are returned to God forever and forever.  It is important for us to know how life works, without being confused by untruths about where man came from and where man is going.  We were created by God as mortals and Jesus will make us immortal.

Remember The Dead Sea

9/14/2015

“Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house.  They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight?  Bring them out to us so we can have sex with them’” (Genesis 19:5).  “Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens.  Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land” (Genesis: 24-25).

The homosexuals there thought God would not punish them for sexual sins.  God had blessed them with abundant waters, gardens, trees and cities.  Then, on a day of the Lord, fire consumed their entire lives.  Ever since that day, that location has been the lowest place on the earth, the Dead Sea.  It lies 1,292 feet below sea level and has a mean depth of 1,200 feet.  It is five times saltier than the ocean.  No fish can exist in it.  It testifies to God’s anger over such perverse sexual behavior.

Homosexuality is now legally sanctioned in America.  Are we unaware of the history of the Dead Sea?  Are we so foolish as to go down a road of immorality that is sure to lead to destruction?  What more could God do to label a thing sinful than to create the Dead Sea out of the place where homosexuality was practiced without reservation?  In response to the subject of homosexuality, all we need to say is, “Remember the Dead Sea.”
